Our research laboratory participated in the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM), held August 1–6, 2026, at the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Under the theme "Communities in Action: Advancing Society," JSM brought together more than 5,000 statisticians and data scientists from 52 countries across more than 600 sessions, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive statistical conferences in the world.
Junha Seo, a member of our research team, presented his research, "Bayesian Infinite Interactive Fixed Effects Modeling for Causal Inference," in two complementary formats. He first delivered a speed presentation in the session "SPEED 1: Data Challenge, Bayesian Analysis, and Statistical Applications, Part 1," followed by an accompanying e-poster presentation for the same session. Through these presentations, he shared his work with the broader statistical community and exchanged ideas with researchers working in Bayesian analysis, causal inference, and related fields.
In July 2026, Prof. Dipak K. Dey (Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor, University of Connecticut) and Prof. Shariq Mohammed (Assistant Professor, Department of Biostatistics, Boston University School of Public Health) visited the KNU Bayesian Statistical Learning Lab to conduct collaborative research under a project funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) (No. RS-2024-00352726).
Our research laboratory participated in the 4th Bayesian Nonparametric Networking Workshop, held in Seoul, Korea. Our researcher Junha Seo presented his latest research through poster presentations.
On Jul 3, 2026, Researcher Chaemyeong Kwon received the Best Poster Prize at the 2026 ISBA World Meeting held in Nagoya, Japan.
Our research laboratory participated in the 2026 ISBA (International Society for Bayesian Analysis) World Meeting, held in Nagoya, Japan. As the premier global gathering dedicated to Bayesian statistics, the ISBA World Meeting brings together leading researchers and practitioners from around the world to share cutting-edge advancements in the field.
Four members of our research team-Minhye Park, Gyeongmin Park, Junha Seo, and Chaemyeong Kwon-presented their latest research through poster presentations during the conference's poster sessions.
Our lab attended the 39th New England Statistics Symposium (NESS), held in Storrs, Connecticut, U.S.A. During the symposium, two of our members successfully presented their research. Junwoo Jo delivered an presentation as an Invited Session Speaker, while Gwanyeong Choi shared his findings through a poster presentation.
In February 2026, seven members of our research lab visited the University of Connecticut (UConn) for an international research exchange with Professor Dipak Dey. The visiting researchers were Junwoo Jo, Gwanyeong Choi, Minhye Park, Mijin Jung, Gyeongmin Park, Junha Seo, and Chaemyeong Kwon.
During the visit, each member presented their ongoing research progress. One researcher from UConn also presented their current work. The exchange provided an opportunity for discussion and collaboration between the two institutions.
Daesung Sim, an undergraduate student(combined B.S.-M.S. course), and Researcher Mijin Jung were awarded the Excellence Award(2nd) in the poster presentation category at the "2025 College of Natural Sciences Basic Science Undergraduate Research Symposium". The event, held on December 8, 2025, at Kyungpook National University’s Global Plaza, featured research presentations from 60 teams participating in the Research Internship Support Project.
In November 2025, we had the great honor of hosting Professor Wei-Wen Hsu from the University of Cincinnati, who visited our Bayesian Statistical Learning Lab and the Department of Statistics at Kyungpook National University. During his visit, Professor Hsu served as an invited speaker at two events: the KDISS (Korean Data and Information Science Society) Fall Conference and the KNU-GLAMP International Seminar.
Our research laboratory participated in the 2025 Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM), held August 2-7, 2025, at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. JSM is the largest gathering of statisticians in North America, attracting more than 5,000 participants and serving as one of the world's premier statistical conferences.
Four members of our research team-Gwanyeong Choi, Minhye Park, Mijin Jung, and Gyeongmin Park-presented their research through poster presentations in the SPAAC-the Scientific and Public Affairs Advisory Committee-Poster Competition session.
